1901-P $20 Liberty Gold Double Eagle Pre-33 PCGS MS64 Crazy Low Mintage 111,430
Fresh to the market after years of being put away in a local collection. Because of the low Mintage of 111,430 for this Liberty head, this date is rare in higher Near gem Mint State grades. This is what we call a sleeper rarity. A date that flys under the radar with only a few astute collectors that recognize its potential. The coin comes graded by the reputable PCGS as Mint State 64 many years ago- an excellent condition given this near gem example is over 120 years old. PCGS encapsulation authenticates and protects the MS-64 condition of the coin. Decades older PCGS holder that preserves this original and bright conservatively graded coin. Ive seen MS65 examples as nice as this by todays standards in our opinion. Obverse: Miss Liberty wearing a pearl-bordered diadem inscribed LIBERTY. Reverse: An eagle with spread wings with a shield on its breast, 13 stars in an oval with rays above encircled with "United States of America" and "Twenty Dollars".
