The gold coin is a double eagle gold coin. Adams was a 107 tonne brig (later Whaling Schooner) built in Bristol, Rhode Island, USA in 1845 by Arnos Crandall.It was active in the whaling industry in the 1870's and 1880's and was broken up in 1896. This would be a fine addition to any Maritime or Americana collection.
