1907-P $20 Saint Gaudens Gold Double Eagle Pre-33 PCGS MS64 Old Holder 1st Year
Because of the low Mintage of 361,667 last year of issue for the Liberty head, this date is rare in higher Choice Mint State grades. This is what we call a sleeper rarity. A date that flys under the radar with only a few astute collectors that recognize its potential. The coin comes graded by the reputable PCGS as Mint State 64 many years ago- an excellent condition given this near gem example is over 120 years old. Graded decades ago as see by the older PCGS holder it is housed in. PCGS encapsulation authenticates and protects the MS-64 condition of the coin. Ive seen MS65 examples as nice as this by todays standards in our opinion.
Obverse: Miss Liberty wearing a pearl-bordered diadem inscribed LIBERTY. Reverse: An eagle with spread wings with a shield on its breast, 13 stars in an oval with rays above encircled with "United States of America" and "Twenty Dollars". First year of Issue by the Philadelphia Mint.
